Andrew Skinner
Executive Chief Steward
Andrew Skinner started working for the Hospital back in 1997 and within 3 years he was involved as a Steward for the Union. Back in 2012 he became a director but don’t quote him on that and as of Nov 2017 he took over the Executive Chief Function. Prior to the Ottawa Hospital he had taken a Correctional Worker Degree from Peterborough and worked security for a local Ottawa Company. Andrew was Hired on as a Transportation worker at the Hospital and has recently moved into a Non-Urgent Transportation worker classification. Andrew’s Vision for the Union is to safeguard the members from the Ottawa Hospital as best as he can, to ensure timeliness and fair representation of the members grievances (as much as possible), to ensure that we keep the Hospital from pushing our members and the Union around as well as making a better workplace for those we represent. The workload doesn’t slow down, and the Hospital needs to improve. This is what the Team is fighting to accomplish daily.
